Issue 6 - Day 5

2 Corinthians 10

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

  1. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
  2. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
  3. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Are you a mighty warrior? Are you a soldier in the front line, using your weapons to take down the enemy? Most weeks we get to the end of the week with a sigh of relief that it is over, we have won our struggle against time. We do not live a victorious life, but one where we survive. Our practical reality is greatly effected by our spiritual position, and the reality is that we are spiritually weak. When it comes to spiritual attack we are frightened civilians, thrust into the war zone, not even sure who the enemy is, or which way to turn. This is not how God desires us to be. he gave us spiritual armour, and we must use it.

Imagine yourself with a pocket knife, trying to knock down Dover castle. it's not going to work. The good news is god knows this so he has supplied us with Apache gunships. Loaded to the gills with rockets and bombs, now take on the castle. It hasn’t got a chance. With God, nothing can stand in the way. Not a single 'theory' of man can stand against the knowledge of God. Not a single person, or organisation is big enough to take him on.

The battle for us however starts in the mind. We have indeed the helmet of salvation to protect our minds, but we must also take control of our thoughts. Jesus preached that the thought is as bad as the deed, and in fact worse. He also gave us the tools to control our minds. Pray and read the word of God.
