Romans 1
Romans 1:17-18
- For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Are you living a Godly life, living by faith, or are you holding the truth in unrighteousness?
We live in a truly messed up world. Later on in this passage we read a denunciation of homosexuality, well any kind of sexuality outside of the one man, one woman marriage that God intended. Yet, as we look around today we are surrounded by films, books, TV and even laws of the land that promote all sorts of wrongdoing. It says a lot about our society that there are billboards around London displaying naked men kissing! As a nation we have turned our back on God and he has given us over to our own wild desires.
It came to a head recently when councils were banned from praying in meetings, though that law has since been quashed. It joins the other lunacies of adoption agencies being forced to close for holding to biblical standards, and prominent church leaders declaring secularism to be okay. Since when has it been okay for Christians to ignore the bible? Well, it has been going on since before the bible was completely written. It was wrong then and is still wrong today.
We need to stand up and be counted as those making a biblical stand. This week, in your workplace, school or where-ever, watch out for issues that go against the bible and stand firm on the word of God. Make a stand.
