Issue 9 - Day 6

Colossians 3

Colossians 3:16-17
16)  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17)  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Our walk, our lives were, and sometimes still are, controlled by the wrong things. These are the works of the flesh, and stem from ungodly attitudes.

Colossians 3:8
8)  But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

All these things will continue to be part of your walk unless you fill your life with a new attitude. That attitude is to do all thinks as if for Christ. Whether it is stacking chairs, or preparing a bible study, waiting for the bus, or making coffee. All thinks should be done as if God were right there, and the primary recipient of your efforts. In fact he is, which makes it even more amazing that we so often fail in this area.

The only way this attitude change can come about is by allowing God to have control over more, and more of your life. We should be teaching one another through word and song, and that can only come about if we read the word of God, and do what it says. if you just read, the word is not dwelling in you richly. That implies putting it into practice. Every word of scripture is profitable to us for instruction, and so on. Doing everything is a high call, and is known to be impossible as we are not perfect, however we can, and should take what we read and put it into practice to the limits of our ability.
