Issue 10 - Day 7

Ephesians 6

Ephesians 6:5-9
5)  Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6)  Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7)  With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8)  Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9)  And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

What is your motivation when you work? Are you someone who works hard only when watched, or to give a good impression? Do you have authority over others? If so, how do you treat them?

Whatever we do it is either for God or against God. If you work willingly, and to the best of your ability as if it was God himself you were working for, then how much more shall he bless you. It all comes back to our attitude. Our entire focus should be on helping others, being an ambassador for Christ, and sharing the gospel.

An ambassador these days contacts his boss back home in seconds with any question, and so with instant communication their position is more honorary. In times past it would take months for messages to get back home, so the ambassador made the decisions on the spot. As far as the locals were concerned it was as if the far off king, or prime minister were actually present. The ambassador had the same authority. This is how we are to be, in your work as well as in your witness, for our work is our primary area of witness.
