Issue 19 - Day 7

Romans 3

Romans 3:23-26
23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24)  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25)  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26)  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

The first verse here is one of the more well known verse of scripture, but how many have read the verses before and after? Hopefully you just read them, if not then go find a bible. Full of phrases like, “their throat is an open sepulchre”. Vivid imagery!

Okay, so all have sinned, and none can match God’s standard, but the whole gospel is given to us in four verses, don’t miss it.
  1. All have sinned
  2. Salvation is free, given by grace
  3. Christ paid the price (redemption)
  4. Salvation comes through faith in his blood sacrifice (the cross)
  5. In him we are forgiven
  6. God did this to make known his righteousness (to witness)

So, repent - believe - receive - witness. This is the gospel in a nutshell, now wherever you are today on that four step path, move on to the next step. Know the author of your salvation and go tell others.
