Genesis 4 - Life of worship
Category:
Sermons
Cain worshipped himself, but Abel worshipped God, the Bible tells us that before Cain murdered his brother his offering to God was unacceptable because his ways were wicked. As you come to worship God what is your life like? Amazing worship on Sunday is meaningless if the rest of the week your life does not match up!

Reclaiming Facebook
Category:
Blog
So I decided recently to get going on the social media side and use Facebook to broadcast what is happening at MRBC. Immediately I hit problems. Do I use the Facebook profile set up years ago when that was all Facebook offered, or should I use the Facebook Place Page that seemed to have been auto created because someone checked in there, or what about the group set up some years back that I am actually an admin for?
These days the route to social media has become clear, I needed to clam and use the Facebook page. Therefore we are now live on https://www.facebook.com/mrbcuk .
This was not without problems. The old group is now archived, so that the page is used in preference, but how do I take over the old profile? I never had the login details, and the guy who set it up can nolonger access it as Facebook have shut it down saying it is an organisation and so should be a page instead. Great, I want that. But if you type in Monnow Road Baptist Church, the profile gets the link not the page! The profiel is still there, still visible and totally inaccessible, How do you contact Facebook to correct this? I don't know. Once access is lost there seems to be no way back and no way to remove it from the internet.
Hopefully one of my many attempts to communicate with Facebook will reach a real person. In the mean time if you get the profile, not the page there is a way to correct that in a post, but only not on a laptop.

Genesis 3 - Describing sin
Category:
Sermons
What is sin? For many people across the World telling them they are a sinner is either offensive or incomprehensible, but God makes it simple. Sin can be summarised as being disobedience toward God.

Genesis 2 - Rivers of Eden
Category:
Sermons
God has places a source of living water, a fountain, the Holy Spirit in us, that is given to nourish us, and to flow out to affect the whole World.
For many of us, we have added a tap to the fountain, and a nice sink underneath, then we leave the tap closed, and wonder why nothing gets wet!
1 Thessalonians 5:19
19) Quench not the Spirit.

Genesis - In the beginning
Category:
Sermons
As we begin this year, are you beginning the year with God? Or is it just another mark on the calendar of your life?
The Bible unfortunately does not start with “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son”, but “In the beginning...”. It is however the key point of scripture.
