Issue 5 - Day 5

2 Corinthians 3

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

  1. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
  2. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Have you ever been out on a bright sunny day and seen a friend walking toward you out of the sun? It looks like they are surrounded by a halo. They glow as if they are radioactive, but it is the sun shining the light. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai that was how he looked, but brighter, even in the middle of the night. He had to cover his face, however in time that light faded. It is the same with us, spiritually.

Think of a re-chargeable battery attached to a light-bulb. This is you. Every time to come before God, some of his power, his glory charges up that battery and you shine brighter. If we do not return to his presence then over time that power fades, just as with Moses. However, if we remain in God’s presence, as Joshua did, then the power levels will just increase. We are changing into His image. We are shining out more and more of His light.

There is only one way to experience this change. Spend time in God’s presence. And the number one way this happens is by spending time in the Word of God. We are changed by the renewing of our minds, and that is done by replacing the junk of TV and this world with the knowledge and love of Christ. Pray that nothing would get in the way of you spending that time daily in the word, before God.
