Issue 9 - Day 1

Romans 14

Romans 14:10-13
10)  But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11)  For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12)  So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13)  Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

There are two traps we fall into on a regular basis. The first is to judge our brothers in Christ. How often have have you thought, or worse actually said, “Did you hear what he did? What an idiot, no-one in their right mind would do a thing like that!” The second trap is mode insidious, it is the wind-up. Some people we claim, are just to easy to wind up, so we do.

Every one of us will have to explain our actions to God one day, and that includes anything that others may judge about us, how we have judged others, and any wind-ups we have put into action. For our own actions, we know what we ought to be doing, and what the bible teaches, so just put it into practice. For the actions of others it matters not to you what they have done, for God will judge them. What matters is how you respond to their actions, or how you caused those actions. And if someone is easy to wind-up, all the more reason to watch your own actions do not mess them up. Also, look out for them and warn them when the actions of others may lead them into trouble. We are brothers in Christ and should look out for each other.

Ask God to help you be more tolerant of others actions, knowing that it is your tolerance you will be judged for, and that is of far more effect to you than whatever they did.
